ABOUT THE BRAND

welcome
Hello, and welcome!! My name is Mykenzie and I am the creator of Made By Myk. I am SO excited for you to be here!!! THANK YOU!
Made By Myk was created in order to help lower the current crisis of overconsumption and overloading our landfills, while still providing quality products to our supporters.
Made By Myk takes pride in creating clothing that offers
a hint of nostalgia,
a dash of creativity,
and a LOAD of love.
Lastly, and most importantly, Made By Myk believes that
everyone deserves to be able to afford something nice.
Providing an honest and affordable good to our customers comes before all else. Our products are always priced respectfully, taking into account that all apparel is recycled (aka thrifted or donated).
Despite this, the UPcycling of these recycled pieces takes a lot of time and love. In the interest of full disclosure and honesty with our supporters and customers, here is our price equation:
cost of apparel + time it takes to make (minimum wage in OH)
= YOUR COST**
*minimum wage in OH is currently $11/hr
** this is your cost for the clothing, prior to tax and shipping
Now, with all the technical stuff out of the way…
THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!
Your support is so much appreciated and I cannot wait to grow this with you!
Tag along, follow us on all platforms and watch our journey! You’re in a unique position to watch us grow from the very beginning.
Let’s see where the universe takes us.

read about our ‘why’.
Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose.
Overconsumption and buying culture have become more significant issues every year. Every piece of clothing that we buy, then throw away as they go out of style, end up in landfills.
As these clothes overload our landfills, the synthetic fibers and materials and dyes in most modern clothing release toxic chemicals, microplastics and heavy metals into surrounding groundwater and soil. These synthetic fibers also take hundreds of years to degrade, which ends in massive mountains of clothing. Even natural fibers, such as wool and cotton, generate methane during compacted breakdown which is a major impact to global warming.
In order to combat this and save our landfills and planet, we choose to upcycle. Please, consider donating your unwanted clothing to donations centers or even to us to be repurpose into new clothing.
